Gas Strut
These are gas spring struts (also called lift supports), a mechanical component for controlled lifting, lowering, and positioning of heavy doors, lids, and panels.
Function: Provides a constant, adjustable force to counterbalance the weight of a load, enabling smooth, effortless movement. The internal gas pressure maintains a stable force throughout the stroke, preventing sudden drops or slams.
Structure: A sealed, high-pressure cylinder filled with nitrogen gas and a piston rod, with a black powder-coated steel housing and corrosion-resistant piston rod. The ends feature ball-joint or eyelet connectors for flexible mounting.
Performance: Available in force ratings from 50 N to 2,000 N, with stroke lengths from 50 mm to 500 mm. The nitrogen-filled design ensures long service life (over 50,000 cycles) and resistance to temperature changes.
Application: Widely used in industrial machine tool doors, equipment enclosures, and automotive hatches, where controlled, safe movement of heavy panels is required.
